The Kia K2500 in its many forms useful to the food and beverage industry was the highlight at the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX) that ran from June 15 up to 19. The K2500’s flexibility was shown in a refrigerated van, the multipurpose K2500 Kargo , and the K2500 Double Cab Dropside which has become a favorite of many entrepreneurs because of its best-in-class cargo handling capabilities.

Powered by a 2.5L turbo-diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the K2500 has one of the highest performance levels in all of its variants, with special mention for its 4×4 version because of the ability to handle heavy loads or handle various terrain. In the cab and chassis trim, it provides that much needed dependability and fuel-efficiency when delivering goods.

Measuring 4,825mm length, 1,740mm width, it can carry up to 1.2 tons of payload. These capabilities all combine to make it highly capable in terms of carrying heavy or high-volume cargo. A high ground clearance of 200mm allows it to remain fully functional even in flood-prone areas.

The K2500 Refrigerated Van is perfect for businesses that deal with perishable goods and frozen foods on a daily basis. Its body is manufactured locally by Centro Nippon Fruehauf Cooltech Inc. (CFCI)—one of the best suppliers of temperature-controlled bodies in the country.

It is capable of consistently delivering up to -20 degrees Centigrade of box temperature but can achieve up to -25 degrees Centigrade when needed. Aside from providing superior thermal insulation, its panels are also environment friendly and less water absorptive which adds durability.

The K2500 Kargo is the ideal configuration for a catering business, and other companies requiring a large cargo capacity. Its enclosed body offers generous space for all the ingredients, appliances, equipment, and other supplies needed in the trade. Highlighted in MAFBEX is Kargo’s capability to service food catering business needs where its 6 cubic meter volume capacity can handle as much as 16 cooler boxes, 72 glass trays with glasses, and 16 chaffing dishes.

This utility vehicle can also be used by small and medium food enterprises that regularly need to transport ingredients or supplies that have no need for refrigeration.

The Kia K2500 is the only light-duty truck in the country that offers the double cab dropside configuration. It can seat up to 6 people, while its dropside allows for the easy loading and unloading of goods. This configuration can carry as many as 20 fruit and vegetable crates. It is aimed at fresh produce suppliers, farmers, livestock raisers, fisheries, and the like. The double cab dropside has 26 strategically placed rope hooks and additional two “canopy hooks,” as Kia would call it to connect canopy or other accessories.

Participation at MAFBEX is part of the Kia K2500 Kargado Karavan 2022 is a roving exhibition mounted in dealerships and trade shows to help business owners discover the best utility vehicles for them.

We are confident that our presence at MAFBEX will help accomplish this goal.” Manny Aligada, President of Kia Philippines expressed.
